1 min read

This explains how to verify ownership when you add a site in Google Search Console.

This time we'll do "ownership verification via DNS (TXT record)."

The site to be verified is handled on wix.com.

First, go to the Google Search Console entry point.

Enter the URL of the site you want to use Search Console for and click the "Continue" button

The value of the TXT verification record to write into DNS is displayed.

You'll use it later in the DNS settings, so copy it.

Next, log in to Wix and click [Settings] → [Site settings] → "Manage domains" in the site address (URL) field

Click "View domain list" shown at the bottom right of the screen

Choose "Manage DNS records" from the three-dot menu

Paste the value of the verification TXT record you copied from Search Console and click "Save"

Return to Search Console and click the "Verify" button

If there are no problems with the settings, "Ownership auto verified" is displayed.

Click "Go to property" and you're ready to use Search Console.

Let's get the most out of Search Console
